Wedding proposal at La Chèvre d'Or on the terrace of the Café du Jardin, with photo session.
Some wedding proposals focus on the moment of the “yes”. Others go a step further, transforming the moment into a real interlude for the two of you, with beautiful images right afterwards, when the emotion is still fresh, vibrant and natural. That's exactly what I like about this type of format at La Chèvre d'Or.
Here, the proposal took place on the third terrace of the Café du Jardin, with that spectacular view of the sea that immediately gives the moment incredible power. But the real richness of this session is that it didn't stop there. After the proposal, we continued with an engagement shoot right on the spot, taking advantage of several of the venue's settings, the day's light and all the beauty of the surroundings.
In my opinion, this is one of the most beautiful ways to experience a marriage proposal in a place like this. Not only do you keep the images of the decisive moment, but you also prolong the experience with a real session for two, in an exceptional location, when the tension subsides and the joy really begins to set in.

Why add an engagement photo session right after the proposal at La Chèvre d'Or?
It's often in the minutes following the proposal of marriage that emotions run high. There's the relief, the joy, the endless smiles, the changing glances, the more spontaneous gestures, and that very special feeling of floating a little. It all adds up to magnificent images.
Adding an engagement shoot right afterwards means you don't have to stop at the knee. It tells the story of the aftermath. The moment when you finally enjoy yourself. The moment when you look at the ring. The moment when you realize what has just happened. The moment when you walk together in a beautiful place, knowing that something has changed.
At La Chèvre d'Or, this choice makes even more sense, because the location offers several very strong backdrops without the need to go anywhere else. We can go from the moment of a request to a real photo shoot, while maintaining a strong visual and emotional coherence.
The terrace of the Café du Jardin for the request, then the rest of the place to extend the moment.
Café du Jardin's third terrace is perfect for the moment of proposal. The view is immense, the terrace breathes, the setting is prestigious without being heavy, and the couple stands out very well in the landscape. It's an ideal place to create a moment that's powerful, legible and spectacular.
But what's particularly interesting here is that the session can then continue in other parts of the venue. Once the request has been made, you can enjoy other perspectives, other lines, other atmospheres. The railing facing the sea, the walkways, the stairs, the more planted corners, the small architectural features of the site - all of this makes for a much richer engagement photo session than a simple series of portraits in the same place.
That's precisely what makes this format so beautiful. The marriage proposal remains the starting point, but it then opens onto something more complete, more alive, more embodied.

Why I recommend a minimum of one hour for this type of session
This is a very important point. When there's a proposal followed by an engagement shoot at La Chèvre d'Or, I really recommend allowing at least an hour. Below that, everything gets a little tighter. There's less time to enjoy, less time to relax, less time to vary the images and naturally change the mood.
One hour is already enough time to experience the request, to let the immediate emotion flow, and then to do a real engagement photo session in several locations around the venue. It's the right minimum to ensure that the moment isn't rushed.
And as soon as the couple want something a little fuller, with more variety, more breathing, more portraits in different spots, then a longer format can become even more interesting. But for this precise logic, a minimum of one hour seems to me to be the right and comfortable basis.
A bright and lively daytime proposal
Here, the session took place in the middle of the day, with the bright, clear light giving the sea an almost unreal blue. It's a different atmosphere from the softer demands of late day, and that's exactly what makes it interesting.
Daylight gives us something brighter, more luminous, more Riviera. The landscape reads immediately. The landforms, the boats, the sea, the contours of the coastline, all come out with enormous clarity. For a couple who like their images very bright, very sharp, very full of life, this is a great option.
And contrary to what you might think, it works very well for a marriage proposal, provided you know how to use the location, the angles and the moments. Here, this light gave the reportage a very clean, fresh, solar energy.
What I like about this series is that it's not just a series of “after the ring” photos. There's a real session behind it. A real intention. A real progression.
We start with the intensity of the request, then come the moment when the ring is uncovered, smiles open, a toast is made, and we finally speak to each other in a different way. Then comes the engagement photo session. It becomes freer. More tender. More elegant too.
We take advantage of several locations to vary the images. Very open framing facing the sea. Tighter portraits with the relief behind. Details on the ring. Images of two in motion. More spontaneous moments. More relaxed portraits. It's this mix that makes this type of session so beautiful.
After a marriage proposal, bodies change. Faces change. Gestures change. There's less expectation, less tension, more lightness. And this is often where some of the most powerful images are born.
In an engagement shoot, I like to photograph the aftermath. The hands that search for each other, the calmer glances, the still disbelieving smiles, the moments when the ring is looked at, the footsteps in the aisles of the venue, the way the couple starts to really enjoy what has just happened.
At La Chèvre d'Or, this works particularly well, because the location has enough beauty to carry these images without the need to overdo it. Often all you have to do is walk, stop, look and breathe, and the session takes shape almost naturally.
A marriage proposal + engagement session at La Chèvre d'or
Why La Chèvre d'Or is ideal for this wedding proposal + engagement photo session format
Not all venues lend themselves equally well to this formula. Some work very well for the proposal itself, but offer few possibilities afterwards. At La Chèvre d'Or, it's exactly the opposite. The venue is strong for the proposal, but also extremely interesting for an engagement shoot.
There are views, of course, but also pathways, more intimate corners, architectural lines, railings, staircases, terraces, vegetation, stone details, and real visual variety. This makes it possible to build a much richer gallery without leaving the site.
It's also a great comfort for couples. No need to move all the energy elsewhere. Everything's already there. The moment remains fluid. The luxury of the place extends into the experience.
This format is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful when you choose a place like La Chèvre d'Or. Because it gives the couple more than a souvenir of the request. It gives them a real experience together.
You don't just leave with the “yes” photos. You also leave with images of the engagement in an exceptional setting, when the emotions are still present, when the light is beautiful, when the place continues to tell a story. This profoundly changes the richness of the report.
And that's what makes the gallery so enjoyable to revisit later on. It captures both the precise moment of the proposal and all the beauty of the aftermath.

If you're imagining a wedding proposal at La Chèvre d'Or and want to enjoy the venue beyond the moment itself, I really recommend you consider an engagement shoot right afterwards.
The Café du Jardin's third terrace is perfect for the request, and the rest of the venue allows you to extend the experience with a real session for two, in a spectacular setting.
